A clip from The Bridge on the River Kwai

Clip from the Bridge on the River Kwai

This part demonstrates how the Japanese regarded those who had surrendered. This is set in Burma (Thailand).

Notice that the British commander, played by Sir Alec Guiness, is trying to demonstrate to his men that they are still soldiers, and that he is still in command of them. He is making this point for their morale, not for his own benefit, obviously.
